Designing for Healthcare
Client: Docway | Brazil | Android • iOS • Web
Docway is a Brazilian healthcare startup that operates a mobile application connecting healthcare providers with patients. The platform offers two distinct versions of its app: one tailored for doctors and another for patients.
Docway's app offers healthcare providers tools to manage schedules, accept consultations, and create calendar exceptions. This helps them efficiently manage appointments and determine their availability. On the patient side, the app functions like ride-sharing apps. Patients can request medical appointments at their preferred location, specify symptoms, select healthcare providers, and choose from available professionals.
I worked at Docway as a Lead UX Designer & Researcher. My focus lay on investigating and caring for the Doctor's experience and website redesign.

The Challenge
Our main goal was to enhance the user experience for doctors within Docway's platforms. Given that many of these professionals lean towards traditional methods and may have reservations about technology, our focus was on simplifying and improving the website to appeal to them. Additionally, the company aimed to attract and retain a broader range of healthcare professionals.
-
Objective: Improve user experience for doctors.
-
Challenge: Address reservations towards technology among traditional professionals
-
Strategy: Simplify and optimize the platform for better resonance.
-
Goal: Redesign the platforms to encourage top-tier professionals to join and stay.

Implementing solutions for Doctors
Interviews with doctors revealed that the agenda feature was not as essential as initially thought, but there was a significant need for more comprehensive patient information during appointment requests.
This included varied data requirements across different specialities; such as contact information, symptoms, and clinical data.
DATA-DRIVEN DECISION
1
Implemented "Patient's Info" section on the checkout screen: Verified patient identity and collected necessary details;
3
Created input field for symptom reporting and medication information.
Developed "Appointments" tab in doctor's account with easy to scanning essential appointment details.
